Biography
LILIEAE, (pronounced "lil-ee-ay"), is a rock band from Cleveland, Ohio.
LILIEAE was founded by frontwomen Lydia Puccini and Kayleigh Hyland in 2018 when re-introduced by mutual friends. Despite experiencing an ever-changing lineup of bandmates, Puccini and Hyland continued working toward the release of their debut EP. With the help of friends Joe Stefano (drums) and Donald Pelc (guitar), they recorded and released their four-track EP, "Level," in October of 2019. The title track, "Level" gained popularity among Cleveland area radio stations.
After the "Level" EP release, Stefano and Pelc joined as permanent members of LILIEAE. By the end of 2019 they had welcomed guitarist Eric Kennedy to fill out their sound. They performed their first show with a solidified lineup at The Happy Dog in Cleveland in February, 2020.

The five-piece spent the majority of 2020 writing and refining new material to record the following year. On October 1st, 2021, they released their second EP, "RUN! RUN! RUN!" Brad Savage from Medina Weekly News and The Summit FM stated, "People who are not yet familiar with Lilieae's music can expect to see and hear dual-female fronted, rock-driven songs with plenty of melodies, harmonies and a hint of a 90s alternative revival vibe."
Their most recent release is "Pretend & Dare" - a four-track EP released in October of 2023. The beginning of 2024 came with a small lineup change when Kennedy parted with the group to pursue other endeavors. Long-time friend Griffin Pereksta stepped in to take the open guitar spot and the band maintains their signature full sound and five-piece rock experience.
The band cites a wide range of rock genre influences including classic rock, 90s alternative, grunge, metal, and punk. LILIEAE's most notable performances include headlining a night of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's 2021, 2022, and 2023 Summer Concert Series - Rock Hall Live, playing the 2022 Brite Winter Music Festival, and performing at Toronto's annual music festival, NXNE in 2023. They play local shows regularly and continue to branch out into new cities.
